Le Dodo by F. Couperin, arranged by D. Ippensen, is a quartet for two flutes, piccolo, and alto flute. The slow, lyrical melody rings out against a background of moving eighth-notes and a lyrical bass part. The work is really a trio with the piccolo and flute playing the same melody in octaves. Le Dodo by F. Couperin, arranged by Derek Ippensen, is a scored for piccolo, 2 C flutes, and alto flute, although the piccolo doubles the first flute part throughout. This short, gentle movement is written in 4/4 and C major and is subtitled Lullaby. The second flute part is the most active and difficult, with eight-note Alberti-bass patterns throughout.
